Democrats Out of TouchMessage by Chairman Gary Jones Whether it’s hundreds of thousands of dollars sent from the Democrat National Committee to the Oklahoma Democrat Party each year or the latest scheme of collecting contributions from clients, many times without their knowledge, Oklahoma Democrats continue to devise new ways to funnel money to their candidates. As to whether the contributions are legal or ethical doesn’t seem to matter. There is another problem with out of state money that many overlook. With Oklahoma Democrats focused on out of state money and enamored by Obamamania, they are losing touch with Oklahoma voters. One only needs to look at State Senator Andrew Rice’s list of out of state contributors to see who Oklahoma’s new Democrat leaders are answering to. It’s not conservative Democrats, I can assure you of that. There is a reason Rice received less than 60% of the vote during the Primary. He, along with his Democrat colleagues, are out of touch with what Oklahoma voters believe in.As Republicans, let’s listen to conservative Oklahoma voters and win big this November. |
Unofficial results of the Primary Election will be available here Tuesday, July 29, beginning shortly after the close of polling places statewide at 7 PM.
Results will be updated continuously throughout the evening until all precincts have been reported.
Under the ‘what were they smoking’ tab in today’s news, an organization, apparently with a straight face, is distributing a “study” that claims that the media is biased AGAINST Sen. Obama.
The George Mason University’s Center for Media and Public Affairs, says the Big Three networks were tougher on Obama than on McCain. No, really. They say that CBS, NBC and ABC were tougher on the Illinois Senator tahn Senator McCain. No, I’m serious. They claim they weren’t drunk when they did the study. That one we’re a little shaky about believing.
We’ll be waiting for the Center for Media and Public Affair’s study proving that it was actually Elvis in the Bigfoot costume and another study that proves Rush Limbaugh is actually a militant Marxist.

One must wonder if Rinehart will soon become a full time cartoonist. After all, it is his greatest accomplishment as noted by Glenn Church of the Foolocracy Blog.
Excerpt :
Throughout the comic, Rinehart says he has stood up to the “liberal good ol’ boys”. County Assessor Leonard Sullivan, a fellow Republican, said he does not know who the “liberal good ol’ boys” are. “I’ve really encouraged him on more than one occasion to get professional help. He really needs it,” said Sullivan.
Insiders say the political heavyweights are moving toward the political candidacy of Brian Maughan as he and others seek to unseat current District 2 Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart.
Former U.S. Attorney and Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Bill Price, AT&T Oklahoma President Don Cain and Republican Party Icon Al Snipes are hosting the event at Price’s Oklahoma City home on May 29th.
“It’s an indication that the smart money is starting to coalesce” around Maughan, a former AT&T consultant and long-time party activist. Snipes and Price are leaders of the conservative wing of the Republican Party in Oklahoma, and Cain is Chairman of the statewide chamber of commerce.
Maughan and former Bethany Mayor J.D. Johnston are the only Republicans challenging Rinehart in that party’s primary thus far. Rinehart faces several felony charges in a trial scheduled for September, and observers are watching intently to see who will emerge as Rinehart’s main challenger in the July 29th primary.
We just received this in our inbox from the Murphy campaign:
There are three questions that are yet to be answered by Rob Johnson.
First, did he transfer funds from his House account to his Corporation Commission account?
Second, what was the amount of that rollover?
Third, did he vote for the ethics reform package that would have prohibited this very practice (HB2196 Sec. J.)?
Wilson Research Strategies released today its January 2008 edition of the National Political Environment Assessment. This edition focuses on framing the War in Iraq:
“Don’t ignore the war but don’t dwell on either. It’s still the most important issue to voters of both parties and independents, but voters are fatigued over hearing the “should we go or should we stay” debate. Some Democrats may try to make the campaign a referendum on the war, but increasing concerns about the economy and jobs provide other issues closer to home with which to attract votes not in favor of the war – an opportunity that was not available to Republicans in 2006.”
