It’s sad to now see the OK alternative press pickup the alleged Barack Obama birth certificate controversy. First reported during the election on prominent, national right wing blogs, others soon followed suit promoting this bogus controversy.
We’re the last people looking to defend Barack Obama, but we’re amazed at the shocking display of a lack of basic high school government civics. As long as Mr. Obama’s mother was an American citizen, and there’s never been any question of that, then it doesn’t make any difference where he was born. If you are making the allegation that his white mother is not his natural mother then say it. It is very evident that Mr. Obama is of mixed heritage, so the theory that the senior Obama moved back to Kenya to conceive junior Barack is not plausible to us. The election is over. Move on!

Some people need to worry about their own lives for a change.
Thank you for pointing out the obvious.

Actually – if you are going to point out Civics 101 (despite the fact that our public education system has long filtered information in our schools, so even then – you might know all the facts); you should know that it is NOT just a case of her being a US citizen and you are over simplifying this for the benefit of sarcastic point making. By constitutional law and the applicable 1961 federal statute that governs citizenship status conferred upon children born of US Citizens abroad, together with her AGE when she gave birth, he is NOT conferred a natural born citizen if he was born in Kenya. If he were, this would have easily been disproven and dropped MONTHS ago.
Further, it is not OUR responsibility to prove or disprove whether he is a US Citizen, it is HIS. Not to mention the fact that Obama is an attorney who TAUGHT constitutional law. If there is nothing to hide, then why not provide the information? Instead, he provides a short form cetification of live birth instead of an actual birth certificate… which only served to raise more questions given that certification CAN BE ISSUED when a child is born elsewhere and brought to Hawaii.
I normally agree with and get a few chuckles from this blog; but please don’t stoop to the level of so many who blog opinion as if it is fact… makes you no better than the biased left media when you try to pull the wool over your readers.

alpafemme, i bet the same people pushing your arguments, could give an equally long discourse on why the internal revenue service and paying income taxes are both unconstitutional.

I have heard the objection that when Obama went to India as a young child, he forfeited his USA citizenship since India didn’t provide for duel citizenship. And when Obama returned to the US, he never filed for re-citizenship.
I’m not familiar about the mother-went-to-Kenya-to-give-birth story, but that does sound far fetch.
However, the India citizenship concern does seem to be a valid concern.
Thoughts?

CW – your argument (i.e. logic) is flawed and doesn’t really apply. Nice try though. Deflection from the real issue works really well in grade school – about the time you should have been sitting in Civics class.
