Yes, these prices are pretty close, but there is always different options. We have a local company called Preferrred Service CNG in OKC, and we offer customers the option of used cylinders. Which on the 2008 F-250 price (which is the vehicle we are able to get a kit for)would save a customer $3-4000.00 on the 20 gge option. Also, if the customer could deal with a new 12.4 gge tank, that would also save them about $3400.00. Then after they get the fifty percent tax credit, the cost of conversion would only be around $7500.00. Right now the cost of CNG is a third of the price of gasoline. If a person spends $120.00 a week on gasoline($480.00/month,$5760.00/year)and converts to CNG they cut that cost by 2/3 and save $3840.00 a year and the conversion pays for itself in less than two years. Not to mention, the oil only having to be changed every 9-10,000 miles because CNG burns so much cleaner than gasoline. If you drive a CNG vehicle it is a joy to fill up your vehicle at a $1.14 a gallon, instead of feeling like you have been ripped off after filling up for $80.00.

In what situations would you recommend conversion to natural gas engines? Which situations would you advise against it?
