It was OKPNS that broke the news of the House campaign finance ethics investigation last year. Ultimately, House Speaker Lance Cargill resigned over the affair, but some Cargill loyalists stayed in power, the most prominent Rep. Ken Miller of Edmond.
It seems the shock waves from that investigation are still being felt. Yesterday’s Tulsa World editorial takes a hard shot at Miller, and there are rumblings that some action regarding last year’s scandal may be coming down from the ethics commission.

Of course this ignores the fact that The Oklahoman’s editorial on the very same subject had positive words to say about Miller’s appearance before the Ethics Commission- the Tulsa Whirled is a liberal paper with a clear bias against conservatives in their news coverage, from their “reporters” at the Capitol and certainly on the editorial page. They’ve rarely had a kind word to say about Republicans in the Legislature – unless some weak-kneed member of the GOP happens to be kissing the Whirled’s posterior on some bit of elitist flotsam or jetsam the Whirled wants in T-town. Talking to the Whirled’s editorial board is like sitting down with the organizing committee for Comintern, and that’s only a slight bit of exaggeration. That’s not to excuse anyone – or even to say that Miller is in the right. He very well could be in the wrong. But to take the Whirled’s word for it without a boulder-sized salt lick is pretty asinine. The “Ethics Commission” has been well-known in the past for being a vindictive tool of the old boy Democratic machine in Oklahoma. That may or may not have changed, but there’s a lot of baggage the “Ethics Commission” needs to shed before it can convince the GOP in Oklahoma it needs a massive funding increase.

Didn’t the ethics commission get an increase? And how long do we have to hear about “rumored investigations”? What would they investigate? That Rep. Miller spoke with Lance Cargill? That he’s from Edmond?
This is the same trash that always seems to come from the same “source”. I’m sorry some people got their little feelings hurt realizing they aren’t but a footnote in state government. Grow up.

This blog is stupid. Cargill resigned because of taxes.
